Ingredients

- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box vanilla wafers
- 4 ripe bananas
Instructions
- Whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Gradually add the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture in a serving dish. Repeat the layers twice more, finishing with the pudding.
- Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and spread over the top layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for the best flavor. You can make the pudding mixture a day ahead and assemble just before serving.
