Air Fryer Apple Fries

A delightful and healthier twist on traditional fries, these Air Fryer Apple Fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and bursting with sweet apple flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples if desired and cut them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Prepare three bowls: In Bowl 1, add the flour; in Bowl 2, whisk the egg and milk; and in Bowl 3, mix the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip in the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray and place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

Choose firm apples for the best texture. Drying the apple sticks helps achieve crispiness.
