- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
- Pour in the warm water and olive oil. Stir until everything comes together into a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide it into 2 equal pieces for large pizzas or leave it whole for one big pizza.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Add your favorite toppings and bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Notes
For a chewier crust, experiment with different types of flour, such as bread flour.
