  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 1 cup cooked chicken or turkey (or any protein of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Dough wrappers for dumplings (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of water and prepare a bowl of ice water.
  2. Carefully peel off cabbage leaves and blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until just softened, then transfer to ice water.
  3. Combine cooked protein, green onions, carrots, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling on each blanched cabbage leaf and fold the leaf around to create a dumpling.
  5. Steam the dumplings for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Make sure to not overfill the cabbage leaves to avoid tearing. Use a mix of proteins for added flavor.
