- 1 medium head of cabbage
- 1 cup cooked chicken or turkey (or any protein of your choice)
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dough wrappers for dumplings (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water and prepare a bowl of ice water.
- Carefully peel off cabbage leaves and blanch them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until just softened, then transfer to ice water.
- Combine cooked protein, green onions, carrots, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the filling on each blanched cabbage leaf and fold the leaf around to create a dumpling.
- Steam the dumplings for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Make sure to not overfill the cabbage leaves to avoid tearing. Use a mix of proteins for added flavor.
