  • 340 g chicken
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and cornstarch. Let it sit for 15 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients: flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder, except for the egg, and divide this mixture into two parts using a 2:1 ratio.
  3. Add the egg to the smaller portion of the flour mixture, whisk well, and then add 30 ml of water. Whisk again until smooth.
  4. Coat the chicken in the flour mixture, dip it in the wet batter, and then coat it again in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour before frying.
  5. Deep-fry the chicken over medium heat until it is lightly golden.
  6. Fry a second time until it turns golden brown.
  7. Serve your delicious fried chicken hot with your favorite sauce!

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying for a crispy texture. Let the chicken marinate longer for extra flavor if possible.
