- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 cup pink food coloring
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, and food coloring.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten each ball slightly and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Cool on wire racks.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or freeze for longer storage.
