Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until softened and caramelized.
  3. Push onions to the side and add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, mix in the onions.
  6. Divide the mixture into two portions and place on hoagie rolls.
  7. Top each with two slices of provolone cheese.
  8. Place under the broiler for a couple of minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding bell peppers or mushrooms. Toast the hoagie rolls lightly for added crunch.
