Low Carb Cabbage Dumplings

Delicious and healthy low carb dumplings filled with ground meat and spices, perfect for a nutritious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground meat (chicken, pork, or beef)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling a large pot of water. Carefully peel away cabbage leaves from the head. You will need about 10-12 leaves.
  2. Blanch the cabbage leaves in the boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until they are soft. Remove and let them cool.
  3. Mix together the ground meat, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and parsley until well combined.
  4. Take a blanched cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. Fold the sides over and roll it up tightly.
  5. Repeat this process until all the filling is used.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings seam side down and cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
  7. Add a cup of water to the skillet, cover, and let them steam for about 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.

Notes

Use different types of ground meat for varied flavors and add your favorite spices or vegetables to the filling for extra taste.
