Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground meat (chicken, pork, or beef)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of water. Carefully peel away cabbage leaves from the head. You will need about 10-12 leaves.
- Blanch the cabbage leaves in the boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until they are soft. Remove and let them cool.
- Mix together the ground meat, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and parsley until well combined.
- Take a blanched cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. Fold the sides over and roll it up tightly.
- Repeat this process until all the filling is used.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings seam side down and cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
- Add a cup of water to the skillet, cover, and let them steam for about 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.
