- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup water
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg with water.
- Dip each piece of chicken first in the egg mixture, then coat it with the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the coated chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove them and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the fried chicken and toss to coat.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. For extra nutrition, consider adding vegetables like broccoli.
