Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium chicken breasts (about 600g)
- 3 hot dogs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ chicken bouillon cube
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Red pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 medium carrot, grated or julienned
- ¼ cup red cabbage (optional)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Begin by marinating the chicken breasts. In a bowl, combine salt, chicken bouillon, onion powder, red pepper, minced garlic, oil, and lemon juice. Add the chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the chicken marinates, prepare the veggies: shred the cabbage, grate or julienne the carrot, and chop the red cabbage if using.
- For the sauce, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and cayenne pepper in a bowl and set aside.
- Cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- Slice the chicken and hot dogs into thin strips.
- Assemble the Shawarma: in a wrap or pita, layer the chicken, hot dogs, and veggies, then drizzle with the sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken longer, use grilled chicken for a smoky taste, and feel free to customize your vegetables and sauces.
