- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just incorporated.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool before slicing into squares. Enjoy!
