For the Cake:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
For the Glaze & Decoration:
- 1 cup white chocolate or candy melts, melted
- Green food coloring
- Holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the cake: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth.
- Spread batter into the prepared pan and bake for 18-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
- Make the frosting: Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until fluffy.
- Assemble: Cut cake into Christmas tree shapes using a cookie cutter. Spread frosting on one tree, then top with another cake layer.
- Coat & decorate: Melt white chocolate and tint it green. Dip or drizzle over cakes. Add sprinkles and let set.
