For the Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk

For the Glaze & Decoration:

  • 1 cup white chocolate or candy melts, melted
  • Green food coloring
  • Holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Make the cake: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth.
  • Spread batter into the prepared pan and bake for 18-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  • Make the frosting: Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until fluffy.
  • Assemble: Cut cake into Christmas tree shapes using a cookie cutter. Spread frosting on one tree, then top with another cake layer.
  • Coat & decorate: Melt white chocolate and tint it green. Dip or drizzle over cakes. Add sprinkles and let set.
