Valentine Ganache Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy in another bowl.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm.
  8. Heat the heavy cream in a small pot until it just begins to simmer, then remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth.
  9. Spread a spoonful of ganache on top of each cooled cookie and add sprinkles if desired.
  10. Let the ganache set before serving.

Notes

For smoother ganache, stir well until all chocolate chips are melted. Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Don’t overbake for chewier centers.
