Beef Stroganoff

A classic dish featuring tender beef and savory mushrooms in a creamy sauce; perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or tenderloin), sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pasta or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Add onions and mushrooms to the same skillet, cooking until softened. Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well to combine. Slowly add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve hot over cooked pasta or noodles.

Notes

Use tender cuts of beef for best texture. Adjust sauce thickness with beef broth.
