Cheesy Meatball Subs

Delicious and hearty meatball subs with savory marinara and melted cheese, perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  4. In a saucepan, heat marinara sauce over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Slice the hoagie rolls and layer the bottom with meatballs, spooning the sauce over them.
  6. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Place the assembled subs on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Serve hot with a side of fries or a salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
