- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix well.
- Add the flour and cocoa powder, and stir until just combined. If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor, and avoid overmixing the batter.
