Hearty Baked Gnocchi Mac and Cheese

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Breadcrumbs for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook gnocchi in a large pot according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same pot over medium heat.
  4. Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer until thickened.
  6. Stir in cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  7. Combine the cooked gnocchi with the cheese sauce and mix well.
  8. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add a splash of cream or sour cream. Feel free to mix in vegetables like spinach or broccoli for added nutrition.
