Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and black beans.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add more chili powder or chopped jalapeños. Great with cornbread or tortilla chips.
