Sugar-Coated Fruit

Ingredients

  • Fruit (such as strawberries or grapes)
  • Sugar
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry the fruit thoroughly.
  2. In a pot, combine sugar and water in a 2:1 ratio.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils.
  4. Allow to boil without stirring until it reaches a hard crack stage (around 300°F or 150°C).
  5. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool slightly.
  6. Dip the fruit into the syrup to coat, then place on parchment paper to cool and harden.

Notes

Make sure the fruit is completely dry before dipping. Experiment with different fruits for variety. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
